Siddhartha Deb
Siddhartha Deb was born in India in 1970 and moved to New York in 1998 on a fellowship. He has worked as a journalist in Delhi and Calcutta, and written for the Guardian, the Observer, the New York Times Book Review, Columbia Journalism Review, Bookforum, the Daily Telegraph, the Nation, London Review of Books and the Times Literary Supplement.

The Point of No Return, Siddhartha’s first novel , was a Notable Book of the Year in the New York Times while Surface, his second novel, was one of the finalists for the Hutch Crossword Award and Book of the Year in the Daily Telegraph. His latest book is The Beautiful and The Damned: Life in the New India.

Siddhartha is the recipient of grants from the Society of Authors and the Nation Institute, and has recently been a fellow at the Radcliffe Institute of Advanced Studies at Harvard University.
