In Freedom, Osho describes three kinds of freedom: 1.) "Freedom from"-- a negative freedom, a freedom that comes from being without something-- parents, government responsibilities. 2.) "Freedom for"-- a positive freedom that comes from embracing and creating someting-- a loved one or an idea. 3.) The highest and ultimate freedom, goes beyond the negative and the positive; it is "just freedom". In this last type freedom is not for or against something, but the freedom of simply being.
