On the shores of the Pacific and in the beach City of San Vicente, accidents of circumstances bring twelve young lives and weave them into a team playing a game esoteric to their new country. Each comes from a different slice of India, different social stratum and different family background. Correlations of the Indian and American experiences of each one, and the individual destinies of each player in terms of his background, career and the affiliations he forms once in America plaits their stories. The range of the emotional spectrum and the mystique of cricket that binds them take us on a good ride. The game they impart to their new country in turn teaches them other pragmatic games compulsory to survive the harsh welcome of the immigrant, among tensions of existence and right and wrong.
