Pan Macmillan, one of the largest general book publishers in the UK, is part of Macmillan Publishers, a global trade publishing group. Pan Macmillan's imprints include Macmillan, Pan, Picador, Boxtree, Sidgwick & Jackson, Tor, Macmillan Children's Books, Young Picador, Macmillan Collector's Library, Two Hoots, Bluebird and Campbell Books.
Pan Macmillan India
One of the top five publishers in India, Pan Macmillan India is one of the newest and fastest growing publishers in the country today. Set up in 1998, Pan Macmillan India began full scale publishing operations in India in August 2010. Prior to this the company was distributing Pan Macmillan International titles in the Indian subcontinent along with its locally published titles under Picador India.
Some of Pan Macmillan's authors include V.S. Naipaul, Aravind Adiga, Ramachandra Guha, Alan Hollinghurst, Jeffrey Archer, Wilbur Smith, David Baldacci, Alan Sugar, Pankaj Mishra, Patrick French, David Vise, Amitava Kumar, Ken Follett, Robin Cook, Peter James, Nelson Mandela, Colm Toibin, Cormac McCarthy, John Banville, Emma Donoghue, Roberto Bolaño, Kunal Basu and Rupa Bajwa and in its children's list, Julia Donaldson, Meg Cabot, Alyson Nöel, Judy Blume, Eva Ibbotson, Anthony Horowitz, Andrew Lane and Steven Feasey.
Pan Macmillan India has, until recently, been publishing only under the Picador imprint. The company has now added Pan and Macmillan, two new imprints to cover its local commercial fiction and non-fiction publishing.

Macmillan is a privately-owned company, owned by Verlagsgruppe Georg von Holtzbrinck GmbH, a large German-based company. The company acquired a 70.81 per cent stake in Macmillan in April 1995, and purchased the remaining stake in 1999, at which point the Macmillan family formally ended its 156-year-ownership of the publishing house. Holtzbrinck owns around forty companies as well as Macmillan and is headquartered in Stuttgart. Its interests include book, magazine and newspaper publishers, television and radio companies and new media firms.
