The Mill on the Floss

Synopsis

The Mill on the Floss is a chronicle of the Tulliver siblings, Maggie and Tom, as they come of age in the fictitious rural English town of St Ogg’s. Maggie yearns for the intellectual nourishment and independence denied to women in her community, and often finds herself at odds with her pragmatic, domineering brother. Nonetheless, as they face an unforeseen change in circumstance, the siblings must come together to navigate the complexities of family, love and class.
